Soluable Graphite

So, despite setting off to paint with watercolour, I’m playing more and more with quick monochrome sketches. This time, instead of using a Waterbrush to drag a graphite stick drawing around, I first fill the the Waterbrush with some watercolour paint. This still pulls the Graphite around and darkens it, but in a more colourful way. So. While I’m trying to improve my drawing (aiming for tone and shade and avoiding lines or edges) I’m also tripping over variations in monochrome techniques. This is a five minute sketch of an imaginary face.

Bonus. Plus the Snapseed “Fine Art” monochrome filter.
